Vinyl

Vinyl flooring (or 'resilient' as it is refered to in the commercial industry) has a gentle 'give' to it when walking on the surface.

Vinyl floors are most often used in lavatories, kitchens and basements; much like laminate flooring they can be made to look like any surface.

Sheet vinyl is a very affordable alternative to laminate, ceramic or wood flooring and is sold off a roll, just like carpet.

Vinyl flooring is also available in 'tile' format - you may see the term 'VCT', which stands for Vinyl Composite Tiles.

VCT tiles are easily repairable - just lift the damaged tile and glue down a replacement. In addition, when you want to change the pattern in your VCT flooring, you can easily try different options and make quick changes over the years you will be enjoying your flooring.

Vinyl flooring is not linoleum! Linoluem flooring, made popular in the 50's and 60's, has no 'give' and has been replaced by vinyl flooring.
