Hardwood floors offer the most flexibility in flooring options to the home-owner; knowing which style is most suitable to your environment is important before making any purchasing decisions.

Hardwood floors come in finished and unfinished formats. Many hardwood floors respond negatively to moisture and are not suitable for basement installation.

What 'species' are you? Choose from Maple, Ash, Pine, Oak, Cherry, Hickory and other exotic species, each with its own grain and texture.

Each species also has a different hardness, with Pine at the soft end and Brazilian Cherry at the hardest end of the scale.
